website making help!?

September 15, 2012 //  by admin

A typical question:

i’m just trying to understand all the costs involved. i know there’s no free way without it being a piece of crap and you not having your own domain name. but what’s the cheapest way to do it? do you always have to pay monthly for your webspace? how do you just own your own website i don’t understand! would love someone to give me proper tips answer here or IM/email me.

Answer: Here is why many business owners are wrong about getting free web hosting. Free hosting will most probably never be the best hosting for most. Web hosting is the heart of your business and can mean the life or death to your business.

To answer your query, here are 7 things to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:

  1. does not suspend accounts as easily,
  2. gives unlimited webspace,
  3. offers no limit on bandwidth,
  4. gives multiple add-on domains,
  5. has easy Site Builder,
  6. has Fantastico and QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
  7. can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of their cheap dedicated server plans if and when your business require.

To answer your question, why not try Hostgator. If you are building your first website and needs a hosting plan, experts usually highly recommend going with Hostgator because they are the best cheap cpanel hosting around.

What if you find out that Hostgator sucks after you signed up with them? HG has 45 days, longer-than-industry-average money back guarantee so you have ample time to test them out. They are rated A+ by Better Business Bureau which shows their commitment to customer satisfaction. You also do not have to pay for the first month. You can just try their fully functional hosting service – you pay only $0.01 (you need to use the special coupon code). Do you know any other hosting company that can give you that kind of assurance? Anybody can grab an account from Hostgator for almost FREE.

Click the coupon below try Hostgator cPanel hosting for almost free. If you already know that Hostgator is what you want, you can even save 25% off the normal price.

Who Should Not Try Hostgator

To be honest, no web hosting service is perfect. Drawback of Hostgator includes:

  1. No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
  2. You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost

If you are still not sure if HG is right for you, or you have specific query about anything at all, try the Live Chat at HG. They are fast and knowledgeable. Just shoot them some questions before you decide.

Some hosting services allow montly payments (very few), but usually you pay for a full year. You also can get a domain name free for the first year with the right p
    hosting package.

There is a free resource (link below) which you may find useful – this includes free hosting which would be a good way to start…
There are three elements to a website:
Domain – (the http:/www bit – basically your ‘address’)
Hosting – a server that holds all your website ‘pages’ and data
Coding – The HTML, PHP, ASP etc… coded pages that make up the working part of your site – these can be coded on a PC and uploaded, created via a CMS (content management system, such as WordPress) or made with a website builder program.
The only thing you really own is the coded pages, as the rest (including the domain can only be ‘rented’ unless you buy your own host server, but that’s an entirley new topic..)

Start by registering a domain name with a registrar like godaddy or with your web host. Then buy web hosting. Some web host accept monthly payment but most of them do yearly. Just host is the best cheap web host I know of. The next step is to design the website and add content to it. As a beginner, you should use a content management system to help you design the site without programming skills. Domain name and web hosting will cost you about $60 to $80/yr .
